FROM HER...
THE STRANGER
I noticed him before he noticed me.
He was across the room, talking to someone, completely unaware that I'd been watching him. The moustache should have ruined it for me. Normally, it would have. It didn't.
He was almost annoyingly put together. Dark shirt. Sleeves pushed back. The kind of man who looked like he knew exactly what suited him. I let myself look a little longer.
Maybe he felt it. Because suddenly, he looked over. Straight at me.
I didn't immediately look away. I held his gaze - just long enough that there was no pretending it hadn't happened. Then I turned back to my drink.
A minute later, curiosity won. I looked again.
He was already looking at me. And this time, I knew exactly what the look meant.
